Analyst Financial

The Financial Analyst position within Oxy's Accounting Department group is based in Denver, CO.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly accruals and journal entries
• Preparing monthly close schedules and variance reports
• Ensuring monthly close deadlines and responsibilities are met
• S supporting the monthly outlook and annual budget process
• Maintaining and updating financial models to reflect current business conditions
• Reviewing financial statements and performing account reconciliations
• Analyzing financial statement activity and summarizing for business unit and accounting management
• Using AI tools to streamline and automate workflows where possible
• Aiding with internal and external audit requests, as well as other special projects
• Helping and coordinating other duties as required

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and meet short deadlines
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Exposure to AI tools
• Self-motivated with strong work ethic
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work overtime required for monthly closing activities

Desired Qualifications

• Upstream oil and gas experience
• SAP and SAC OneStream
• CPA
