Analyst, Diligence (Fall 2027)
About the role
K1 is seeking a Private Equity Analyst to join the expanding Investment team in Manhattan Beach, CA, with a Fall 2027 start date. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and a collaborative mindset. K1’s proprietary internal development program trains investment professionals directly out of school or laterally from non-traditional backgrounds, offering an opportunity to enter Private Equity without prior Investment Banking experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to evaluate new investments and identify key investment levers to drive value creation post-close.
- Engage with senior executive team members, founder/CEOs, and third-party advisors as part of daily responsibilities, representing K1 and developing your career as a software investor.
- Build dynamic financial models, run proprietary analyses, and review company-provided materials as part of cross-functional deal teams.
- Present potential investments to K1’s Investment Committee alongside deal team members.
- Collaborate with finance teams at portfolio companies to create quarterly and annual budgets.
- Coordinate data collection and diligence sessions with co-investors, lenders, and other financing sources for potential future capital needs.
- Work collaboratively with deal teams, finance, accounting, legal, and operations teams at K1.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (first-generation college students are encouraged to apply).
- Strong academic career, regardless of subject matter.
- Adaptable, results-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Proactive and high-energy with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Pay
As of the date of this posting, K1 reasonably expects to pay $95,000 plus benefits and a competitive bonus for the position of Private Equity Analyst.
