Analyst, Development Operations & Donor Services
Position Overview
The Analyst, Development Operations & Donor Services plays a critical role in supporting Room to Read's fundraising operations by ensuring donations are processed accurately, donor data remains reliable, and donors receive exceptional service.
This role works closely with Development, Finance, and other internal partners to manage gift processing, maintain data quality within Salesforce, support donor inquiries, and help improve the systems and processes that enable fundraising success.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working with data and technology.
What You’ll Do
Gift Processing & Donor Operations (45%)
- Process and record donations from multiple sources, including checks, wire transfers, stock gifts, cryptocurrency, matching gifts, and third-party fundraising platforms.
- Ensure gifts are coded accurately and entered into Salesforce in a timely manner.
- Generate donor receipts and acknowledgments.
- Manage the corporate matching gift process, including application submission, donor follow-up, tracking, and reporting.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for donor inquiries related to giving, acknowledgements, receipts, and account updates.
- Process recurring gift changes, donor refunds, and tribute gifts.
- Maintain donor-facing resources and frequently asked questions.
- Deliver timely, professional, and donor-centered support that strengthens donor relationships.
Database Management & Data Quality (25%)
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of donor records within Salesforce.
- Perform data updates, record maintenance, deduplication, and data cleanup activities.
- Partner with Finance to reconcile donation records and resolve discrepancies.
- Support ongoing data quality initiatives and system improvement projects.
- Respond to database-related requests from internal stakeholders.
Donor Support & Stewardship (15%)
- Support pledge tracking, revenue reconciliation, and event-related gift processing.
- Maintain donation records and supporting documentation to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
Process Improvement & Team Support (15%)
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, data quality, and donor experience.
- Document and maintain procedures, workflows, and process guides.
- Support implementation of new processes and system enhancements.
- Aid with audits, compliance activities, and reporting requests.
- Contribute to special projects and provide operational support across the Development team as needed.
What You’ll Bring
Required
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting fundraising operations, development operations, donor services, finance operations, or similar administrative functions.
- Hands-on experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM/database platform to manage donor, constituent, customer, or financial data.
- Experience maintaining data quality, including record updates, data cleanup, and duplicate management.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other business applications.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
Preferred
- Experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP).
- Experience supporting nonprofit fundraising operations.
- Experience with gift processing, receipting, reconciliation, or donor data management.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Interest in and commitment to the mission of nonprofit organizations.

We Offer
The salary range for this role is $48,000 to $58,000. Compensation may vary depending on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, skill set, and relevant education or certifications.
