Analyst - Sourcing Services
About the role
The Analyst, Sourcing Services at ProAmpac supports strategic sourcing, procurement performance, and supply chain efficiency across manufacturing operations. This role requires strong analytical skills, organizational abilities, and the confidence to communicate insights clearly to business leaders.
Responsibilities
- Analyze purchasing, sourcing, and supply chain activity to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvement, and stronger business performance.
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives by gathering internal usage data, market intelligence, supplier information, and industry trends.
- Prepare reports summarizing procurement trends, including usage rates, forecasted needs, lead times, supplier performance, and inventory considerations.
- Identify opportunities to optimize inventory levels and reduce risks related to excess or insufficient materials.
- Present findings, insights, and recommendations to business leaders in a clear, practical, and actionable way.
- Measure the results of implemented improvement strategies and track progress against expected outcomes.
- Support supplier evaluation efforts, including proposal and quote analysis based on quality, cost, service, and other business criteria.
- Recommend alternate vendors, materials, or purchasing options to reduce cost, improve efficiency, or support better outcomes.
- Help gather business requirements and identify supplier pre-qualifiers for potential sourcing opportunities.
- Cook up with internal teams to support the movement of raw materials or in-process goods to meet production and customer expectations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, analytics, manufacturing, operations, finance, or a similar business function.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, gaps, risks, and opportunities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and present recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Sound judgment, proactive decision-making, and the ability to develop practical solutions.
- Self-motivated, professional, and comfortable working with internal partners, external suppliers, and business leaders.
Qualifications
- Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, 2–4 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, analytics, manufacturing, operations, finance, or a similar business function.
- Key competencies include ethical conduct, technical capacity, oral and written comprehension, oral and written expression, inductive reasoning, mathematical reasoning, and complex problem solving.
Benefits
The role offers a base salary range of $60k to $90k annually, depending on experience. The position is hybrid remote, based out of Chicago, IL.
