About the role

The Analyst – Corporate Accounting plays a crucial role within the Paylocity team, focusing on posting journal entries, preparing balance sheet account analyses, and supporting various accounting areas including fixed assets, payroll, revenue, and cash and prepaid transactions. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2+ years of experience in accounting-related work, with a preference for CPA certification or progress towards it. Previous experience in general accounting duties, account reconciliations, and general ledger management is beneficial. Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and balance sheet analysis with reconciliation to the general ledger on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Conduct independent review of some journal entries and account analyses
  • Responsible for various accounting areas such as fixed assets, payroll, revenue, cash and prepaid transactions
  • Support topics such as revenue recognition and billing operations
  • Assist the accounting team in other month-end activities and special projects as needed
  • Ensure processes are executed in a timely and accurate manner, including the monthly close account analysis
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Perform other accounting duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting-related work (large corporation or public accounting experience a plus)
  • Previous work experience in general accounting duties, account reconciliations, and general ledger
  • Intermediate to advanced level experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to take ownership of assignments and be self-motivated
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure of time constraints
  • Detail oriented, well organized, and able to prioritize work and be accurate with numbers

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

  • Sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
  • Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.

Pay

The base pay range for this position is Min $54,500/yr. - $80,000/yr. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position offers a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed.

Schedule

This role follows a hybrid schedule, requiring two days in the office at our Schaumburg, IL location and three days remote per week. The in-office days are subject to business needs. Candidates must be able to commute to the office as required. The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. This may include adjustments to on-site requirements or schedule expectations, as necessary.
