Analyst - Business Intelligence
About the Role
As part of the Data Solutions Support team, the Analyst will leverage Snowflake and Power BI systems to build best-in-class Data Management, Analytical pipelines, and Reporting Suite for Ally's Contract Processing Center and Direct Business Teams. The Analyst will utilize analytic and technical skills to innovate, build, and maintain well-managed data solutions and capabilities to tackle business problems.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex research and analysis to support business operations and present findings to manager or project leader.
- Assist in drafting, interpreting, and administering operational policies and procedures.
- Develop, validate, and maintain step-by-step instructions/training materials.
- Monitor performance to identify and help correct performance problems and provide feedback regarding areas requiring attention.
- Design, develop, and support business intelligence solutions to meet reporting and analytic needs from business partners.
- Implement robust, reliable, and custom reporting and visualizations using BI tools (Power BI, Sigma, Excel).
- Develop and maintain self-service reporting solutions and/or automated solutions.
- Use SQL for data preparation: extracting, cleansing, aggregation, and summarizing data to create meaningful visualizations.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of data by creating automated testing scripts.
- Participate in the design and implementation of logical and physical data models.
- Review proposed production changes to ensure highest quality data standards and lowest production impact.
- Navigate, understand, and leverage existing complex data structures for reporting.
- Support production BI solutions by monitoring and tuning SQL queries and data loads.
- Address user questions concerning data integrity.
- Monitor performance and communicate functional and technical issues proactively.
- Interact with senior management, department leaders, and other employees to develop and reach agreement on reporting requirements and priorities.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications:
- 1+ years in customer service or financial services industry.
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior leadership experience.
- Ability to perform technical-based activities.
- Knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
- Leveraging technical expertise and relationships to contribute to strategy and drive business results.
- Proficient with Power BI, DAX, SQL, Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Exposure to Python and AI, and adaptability to next-generation technologies.

Pay
Base Pay Range: $65,000 - $115,000 USD. An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, scope and responsibilities, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
Schedule
Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements during the hiring process.
