About the role
Walker & Dunlop Capital Markets is seeking a collaborative and driven Analyst responsible for financial analysis and market research related to the financing of commercial real estate properties in primary and secondary markets nationwide. The Analyst will assist in sizing and underwriting assets, gathering due diligence, and interfacing with internal producers and external clients to procure financing for acquisition, development, and refinance transactions.
Responsibilities
- Review and prepare cash flow models using Excel and calculate investment returns
- Perform market research and financial due diligence
- Write, prepare, and assemble Investment Memoranda
- Maintain transaction records and contact database
- Assist in identifying and pursuing business leads
- Perform other duties as assigned
Attendance is generally required from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm local time, Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred concentration in finance and/or real estate)
- 1+ years of experience in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field
Skills
- Excellent financial modeling skills, including thorough knowledge of Excel (ARGUS a plus)
- Proficiency in MS Outlook and Word; ability to learn Salesforce and other company software
- Proven written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and productively in time-sensitive situations
- Ownership of work, willingness to take on challenges, and patience when learning new processes
- Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and stakeholders
