Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer - New College Graduate Hire
About the role
The Analog/Mixed‑Signal Design Engineer will focus on high‑performance analog‑to‑digital (ADC) and digital‑to‑analog (DAC) converters. The successful candidate will design high‑performance transistor‑level circuits starting from the initial specification, through design and layout supervision, silicon evaluation and characterization, to final product introduction to market.
Responsibilities
- Design high‑performance transistor‑level circuits for ADC/DAC applications.
- Develop specifications, create schematics, supervise layout, and perform silicon evaluation and characterization.
- Introduce finalized designs to market.
Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on analog/mixed‑signal circuit design; recent graduates or those close to completing a PhD are preferred.
- Familiarity with high‑speed, high‑resolution ADC or DAC data converter design and related building‑block circuits such as bandgap references, op‑amps, comparators, oscillators, DLLs, PLLs, etc.
- Experience evaluating silicon on bench and using standard lab equipment.
- Strong intuitive and analytical understanding of transistor‑level circuit design, including noise and mismatch analysis.
- Experience with analog and digital behavioral modeling.
- Proficiency with Cadence schematic capture, Virtuoso, Spectre and/or HSPICE simulation tools.
- Familiarity with layout parasitic extraction tools and layout‑dependent impairments in advanced CMOS processes.
- Ability to work independently, create and adhere to schedules.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with geographically distributed teams.
- Proactive in seeking help and providing guidance.
