About the role
The commercial/sales team in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking an Account Management Specialist for our Automotive Team.
Responsibilities
- Maintains customer account demand information for orders or forecasts as part of the Order to Cash process, including inventory and warehouse management with high accuracy and timeliness.
- Aligns customer demand with monthly S&OP guidelines, including plant, alloy, and product allocations.
- Communicates order status and information within work processes to ensure customer service expectations—both specified and non-specified—are met or exceeded.
- In collaboration with Commercial and Supply Chain teams, advises customers on changes such as delays, forecast updates, and product availability.
- Works closely with customer contacts to sustain and improve customer service levels and develop service relationships with key accounts.
- Supports the sales function by following up on necessary actions from customer meetings related to growth and maintenance of all accounts.
- Provides support or backup for other customer service-related functions, such as trial orders, initiating new customer master requests, and hedging forward fixed metal.
- Participates in projects and process improvements, representing customer service, materials, scheduling, and revenue concerns.
- Collaborates cross-functionally to resolve customer concerns, handling issues with assigned customers at low, mid, and high levels of escalation.
- Provides training, support, and mentoring to new team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- 0-2+ years of customer service experience.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking ability.
- Computer/system skills (SAP, Excel, Power BI, Salesforce, etc.).
- Ability to efficiently handle stressful or conflict situations with internal and external customers.
- Ability to manage time with minimal supervision and prioritize multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- ERP experience; SAP experience a plus.
- Business-to-business experience preferred.
- Manufacturing/chemical experience a plus.
