Ammonia Refrigeration Technician

This position requires working shift hours from 11pm-7am.

Requirements

• 2 years of ammonia refrigeration experience in an industrial refrigeration environment and food manufacturing facility
• Ability to pass respirator fit test and Pulmonary function test, as well as 24-hour hazmat class
• Ammonia Certification from GCAP or RETA
• EPA Type II certification

Responsibilities

• Operate, test, troubleshoot, and repair ammonia refrigeration systems, boiler, hot water, domestic cold water, and compressed air systems
• Perform planned maintenance on all ammonia refrigeration and utility systems
• Operate and maintain spiral freezers
• Maintain the material integrity of the Refrigeration and utility rooms in accordance with established best practices
• Perform ammonia system pump downs for repairing/replacing ammonia refrigeration parts
• Complete all applicable documentation, including PSM-related modifications or changes, Work Orders (WO's), refrigeration system and operation notes
• Automate and digitize all necessary maintenance, refrigeration, and ammonia records
• Adhere to all Company policies, including safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
• Perform daily rounds and inspections of Temperatures and Condition of Ammonia System
• Perform chemical tests on boilers and Condenser towers
• Any other duties assigned by Maintenance/Refrigeration Manager
