Overview At the Digital Harbor Foundation, the AmeriCorps Planning Manager plays a crucial role in the success of a Career Navigators program by overseeing all aspects of program development, implementation, and ongoing improvement. Education And Experience Requirements If you have a Bachelor’s degree in a related or relevant field, you are encouraged to applyAt least 5 years of Project Management experience; PMP certification encouraged to applyExperience in nonprofit organizations is a plus Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Ability to confidently host, facilitate, and present to large groups; strong public speaking skills are preferredKnowledge of the setup and operation of projectors, screens, microphones, and other audiovisual (AV) equipment is a plusHigh level of interpersonal and ethical skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentationSuperb verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail in composing and editing materialsAbility to work independently, including managing multiple projects and deadlines and proactively identifying and completing tasksAbility to collaborate on informal and formal team-based projectsComfort using HR databases and systemsProficient with Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides) Additional Notes Hybrid. Role and Responsibilities Planning Process Needs AssessmentAssess the target population's workforce readiness, digital literacy, tech access, skills gaps, employment barriers, and career interestsEvaluate existing workforce programs, resources, infrastructure, credentials, and supportive services availableEngage partners, employers, and prospective participants to identify local workforce needs and high-demand career pathwaysUse findings to shape program design, recruitment, training, employer partnerships, and measurable outcomesGoal SettingDefine clear objectives for the Career Navigators workforce development program, including career readiness, digital skills, occupational training, credential attainment, and pathways to sustainable employment and career advancementEstablish measurable outcomes and KPIs for enrollment, skill development, training completion, credentials, employment placement and retention, aligned with participant needs, employer demand, and identified career pathwaysStakeholder EngagementCollaborate with community partners, local organizations, and government agenciesBuild relationships with potential funders and sponsorsBudgeting and Resource AllocationDevelop a budget for the program, including staffing, materials, and technologyAllocate resources effectively to meet program goalsCurriculum DesignCreate a structured curriculum that covers career readiness, essential digital skills, occupational training, professional development and topicsAdapt content to address the specific needs, identify skill gaps and targeted career pathways of the target audience Program Implementation Recruitment and TrainingRecruit and train Career Navigators or instructorsEnsure they have the necessary expertise in digital literacy and teachingOutreach and EnrollmentDevelop marketing and outreach strategies to attract program participantsHandle enrollment and registration processesClass SchedulingCreate and coordinate schedules for workforce development training, career readiness sessions, digital skills classes, workshops, and employer-focused activitiesEnsure scheduling is flexible and accessible to accommodate participant availability, training requirements, instructors, employers, and community partnersMonitoring and EvaluationImplement data collection and assessment mechanisms to track progressRegularly review program performance against KPIsAdaptation and ImprovementUse evaluation results to make adjustments and improvements to the programStay current with digital trends, employer needs, industry demands, and emerging career pathways and update curriculum and training as needed Program Support and Administration Staff ManagementSupervise and support Career Navigators and other internal and external program staffConduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedbackReporting and DocumentationPrepare regular reports for stakeholders, funders, and partnersMaintain accurate records of program activities and outcomesTroubleshooting and Problem SolvingAddress issues or challenges that arise during program planning and ultimately implementationDevelop solutions to ensure the program's successQuality AssuranceEnsure the program maintains high-quality standards in curriculum and teachingSeek participant feedback and make necessary adjustmentsSustainability and GrowthExplore opportunities for program expansion or replication in other communitiesSecure long-term funding and support for program sustainabilityCompliance and Legal MattersEnsure the program adheres to relevant laws and regulationsAddress any legal or compliance issues as they arisePublic Relations and AdvocacyPromote the program's success and impact through public relations effortsAdvocate for digital literacy, workforce development, career readiness, and equitable access to employment and career advancement opportunities at the community and policy levels Other Duties Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Compensation Compensation for this full-time position is $50,000 - $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
