AMCI/YMCI Recovery Support Navigator
This role is a member of a multidisciplinary team operating Child & Family Services’ new Mobile Crisis Van (MCV). The Recovery Support Navigator will work with individuals receiving mental-health outreach services through the MCV, collaborating closely with recovery coaches to conduct screenings, intakes, insurance authorizations, and service referrals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct screening and intake interviews to determine consumer eligibility for services.
- Provide trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, person-centered care tailored to each consumer’s unique needs.
- Maintain professional relationships and connections with community resources and partners.
- Engage and build rapport with consumers; assist with referrals and coordination to services including primary care, mental-health treatment, addiction treatment, recovery support, employment specialists, housing specialists, DTA, and other social supports.
- Remain knowledgeable about the substance-use-disorder service system; link consumers to treatment and recovery resources such as Acute Treatment Services, residential treatment, nutritional counseling, support groups, medicated-assisted treatment, and Narcan education.
- Help peers manage crises and create safe spaces during meetings.
- Uphold communication standards, confidentiality laws (including 42 CFR), and privacy rights.
- Maintain record-keeping as required by CFS, funding sources, and accreditation authorities.
- Participate in all supervision and training activities mandated by CFS, funding sources, and accreditation authorities.
- Assist in maintaining a welcoming, clutter-free mobile environment for a positive therapeutic experience.
- Serve as essential staff, expected to report as scheduled regardless of holidays, emergencies, or agency closings to ensure program continuity.
- May be required to work beyond a forty-hour work week, remain on shift, or work additional shifts until relief staff arrive.
- Mobilize and respond to cases across catchment areas, reporting to MCI offices in New Bedford, Fall River, or Plymouth as requested by management.
- For overnight positions, remain awake for the entire shift.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation that meets CFS Driver Policy.
- Travel required to provide services in various settings and attend agency meetings, events, and trainings.
Pay
Compensation is determined by a range of factors including prior experience, education, certifications, licenses, skills, expertise, location, and internal equity. Final offer amounts may vary and may include bonuses or other incentives.
$1 per hour language differential for eligible languages: Cape Verdean Creole, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Spanish, or ASL.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM.
