Ambulatory Surgery- Day Shift, Full-time- Operating Room Registered Nurse
About the Role
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care within a busy 3-room multi-specialty operating room, including cataract surgery. The unit offers a variety of surgical services: Ophthalmology, General, Plastics, GYN, Ortho Hand, Ortho Foot, Urology, and ENT.
Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 06:30–15:00 (occasionally required to stay over to finish cases).
Location: Dearborn-Fairlane.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- 1–2 years of OR circulating experience.
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
- Scrub knowledge is a plus.
- Prior operating room experience.
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment as a team player.
Qualifications
- BSN preferred.
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
