Ambulatory Pharmacy Technician II - Cambridge

About the role

Cambridge Health Alliance is seeking a dynamic pharmacy technician to join our dedicated Ambulatory Pharmacy team located in Cambridge, East Cambridge, Malden, Revere, and Medford. Our ambulatory pharmacies are embedded within the health system, fostering interprofessional collaboration. The team utilizes a top-tier pharmacy system, state-of-the-art automation (including EPIC EMR, Parata/RapidPak for dispensing), and Google Workspace. The role focuses on optimized patient care and safety, enhancing patient and provider satisfaction, and supporting the financial sustainability of the organization. Responsibilities

• Accurately create and maintain patient profiles, including health- and insurance-related information in the pharmacy computer system.
• Register patients as required and enter prescription orders into the computer systems.
• Assist patients, family members, and employees who drop off prescriptions; set appropriate prescription pick-up expectations.
• Support Ambulatory Pharmacists in filling prescription orders, compounding non-sterile products, dispensing prescriptions, and making the offer to counsel.
• Handle phone calls from patients and healthcare providers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
• Current MA Pharmacy Technician license or eligibility for registration in Massachusetts. Candidates without an active MA registration must register prior to working 1,000 hours at CHA; failure to do so will result in discontinuation of employment.
• Completion of a Board of Pharmacy-approved pharmacy technician certification examination is preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.

Pay

Schedule

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
