About the role
The Ambulatory Pharmacy technician provides Pharmacy service support in the medication management clinic to ensure continuity and safe care.
Responsibilities
- Support the pharmacist in gathering health and prescription information.
- Registration of the patient at clinic visit.
- Complete authorization for prescriptions; obtain supporting documentation for denials.
- Understand the billing process; troubleshoot insurance issues.
- Absorb prescription to retail pharmacies.
- Follow up with patients to ensure compliance with care.
- Absorb any required responsibilities to ensure safe and complete care.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year Ambulatory care pharmacy experience required.
- Current NJ registration (or eligible on hire).
- Must register with the NJ Board of Pharmacy during the first 10 days of employment.
- Must complete registration with the NJ Board of Pharmacy and become and active registered Pharmacy Technician within 180 days of hire.
- Pharmacy technician National Certification (PTCB) or greater than 10 years hospital or equivalent pharmacy experience required.
- Completion of basic pharmaceutical calculations.
- Knowledge of medication therapy management (MTM)
- Prescription authorization and Medicare/MTM billing experience.
- Knowledge of 340B programs.

- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
