Ambulatory Assistant
Job Summary
Provides non-licensed clinical and patient care support in the ambulatory setting under the direction of licensed personnel. Performs standardized patient intake procedures, screening activities, and documentation within the electronic medical record (EHR). Supports efficient patient flow, contributes to care team effectiveness, and promotes a safe, patient-centered environment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs patient rooming and intake activities in alignment with ambulatory workflow standards
- Obtains and accurately documents vital signs, height, weight, and the chief complaint
- Counsels patients on SDOH screenings according to established protocols
- Supports efficient clinic operations by prepping rooms, stocking supplies, and assisting in patient flow
- Participates in required training, continuing education, and competency activities
- Completes assigned goals
Experience Description
Minimum Required: Education - Enrolled in college or university. Skill - Communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Writing - Writing legibly and recording information accurately as necessary to perform job duties. Training - Enrolled in college or university. Special Skills - Computer literacy. Licensure - BLS within 14 days of hire.
