About the role

As a Prep Cook, you will prepare a variety of hot and cold food items such as salad mixes, sauces, side dishes, and appetizers. You will portion, wash, peel, slice, and mix vegetables, fruits, pasta, and other ingredients for entrees, appetizers, salads, and garnishes. You will also carve and slice meats and cheese, measure and mix ingredients to make salad dressings, sauces, salads, and other hot and cold food items following recipes.

Responsibilities

• Report to work on time as indicated on the work schedule with a uniform that meets restaurant requirements and is maintained and cleaned.
• Practice positive personal hygiene and cleanliness habits during all work shifts.
• Prepare all food to ensure items meet company specifications, recipes, procedures, plate presentation, and quality standards.
• Ensure guests have a superior dining experience by correctly prepping food products.
• Display proper food safety techniques in handling and preparation, including personal hygiene, hand washing, gloves, and knife skills.
• Know emergency procedures for the restaurant.
• Maintain the highest degree of sanitation, cleanliness, and food safety for the work area, including prep tables, countertops, refrigeration units, floors, walls, and shelving.
• Accomplish all job duties while adhering to safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift.
• Immediately report any unsafe condition or unsafe act, accident, or injury.
