About the role

The Aluminum Plant Supervisor is responsible for the safety and health of the employees under his/her direction by recognizing and reducing risk and managing processes that prevent incidents in his/her areas. You must ensure that safe work procedures and practices are followed and address at-risk behaviors in the workplace. You will set, communicate and implement priorities in alignment with the business objectives of Warrick Operations, the location, and the department of responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching and mentoring others to reach their full potential
  • Developing and upholding very high standards in safety and production practices
  • Guiding diverse teams to achieve its goals
  • Mentor and counsel employees and recommend improvement plans
  • Leading troubleshooting efforts, developing practices, and enhancing productivity
  • Coaching and counseling employees on standard operating practices and "best practices" for increased performance
  • Accountable for traditional administrative tasks of crew leaders

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial environment
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills in order to communicate with all levels of the organization required
  • Good computer skills including use of Microsoft Office
  • Requires a progressive thinker who can initiate change
  • Available to work 12 hour rotating shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in a technical discipline
  • Supervisory experience in a union environment
  • Experience working in a smelter
  • Knowledge of ABS or Lean Manufacturing principles
