Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified Reading Teacher to support instructional services within the county jail setting. The ideal candidate must hold a valid Reading certification (required) and either possess or be willing to obtain English 6?12 and Social Studies 6?12 certifications within one year of hire. Candidates must not have a history of prior out-of-field teaching.

This position requires the ability to work in a structured correctional environment, maintain professionalism, and support diverse learners with varying academic needs.

Additional Requirements

• Successful completion of an additional background clearance through the Sheriff’s Office
• Strong classroom management and instructional skills
• Commitment to supporting student achievement in a non-traditional setting
