Alpha Front Office Services, Assistant Vice President
About the Role
This position supports and maintains the production trading of multiple clients, acting as a subject matter expert and escalation point. The role involves daily interaction with the client’s Front Office Trade Management desk staff to ensure the team meets internal deadlines and client Service Level Agreements (SLAs), enabling timely trading. You will triage complex front office product and trading queries, requiring familiarity with trading software, SQL, and strong interpersonal skills in a Front Office Trading support capacity. The role demands comfort with order execution issues, product issues, and proficiency in building relationships with trading staff.
You will interact with numerous teams and departments, including Portfolio Services, Trade Settlement, Performance, and Reconciliation, while serving as a subject matter expert for Front Office operations. The role focuses on building cooperative and professional relationships internally and externally, leveraging organizational resources to achieve company, team, and client goals.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day responsibilities of the team, developing a strong risk management and controlled environment to eliminate risk incidents and inadvertent data disclosures.
- Take a lead role in internal or external audits.
- Confirm the completion of reviews and verification of staff work on a daily basis, enforcing stringent procedures and controls.
- Assist in the review and verification process as needed, ensuring documentation protocols are followed.
- Conduct high-level analysis in specific areas of expertise, identify and resolve work-processing issues, and suggest operational streamlining.
- Perform a team lead function, acting as a subject matter expert to provide guidance, including training for new team members and cross-training for existing staff.
- Take an active role in new employee onboarding.
- Research complex issues and inquiries, resolving discrepancies and addressing escalated matters from external clients and internal departments.
- Approve documented workflows, procedures, and controls, ensuring they are maintained and up to date.
- Determine the impact of activities on other areas and make proactive recommendations for problem resolution.
- Interface with senior-level internal and external clients and departments on complex matters.
- Prepare ad-hoc reporting, including daily, weekly, and monthly metrics.
- Engage in complex special projects and assignments, such as new client onboardings and integrations/upgrades.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in finance, accounting, or economics, or equivalent work experience in finance or accounting.
- 7-10+ years of related industry experience, including 6 years of operational experience.
- Working knowledge of domestic and international financial instruments.
- Detailed understanding of operations and strong leadership skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task, balance workload, and work in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to meet aggressive SLA deadlines.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet and database applications.

Pay
Salary Range: $80,000 - $140,000 Annual. The range applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate works outside the primary location, the applicable range may differ.
