About the role

The role of Allocation Analyst involves managing the optimal deployment of merchandise to stores within their assigned categories. Key responsibilities include splitting merchandise between distribution centers, building effective allocation execution plans, optimizing product flow to stores, and providing analytics-based recommendations for future improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Splitting purchase orders in appropriate quantities to distribution centers to maximize store service levels and department turns.
  • Maintain balanced inventory levels in all distribution centers and retail locations.
  • Allocate and replenish items weekly according to department strategy and merchant vision while maintaining appropriate store inventory levels.
  • Analyze sales history to support event quantities by location for all event/seasonal SKUs and ensure timely allocation and replenishment of SKUs attached to events/ads.
  • Facilitate periodic seasonal event strategy meetings with business partners to ensure effective execution of seasonal strategies.
  • Collaborate with Merchant, Assortment Planner, and Financial Planner to ensure allocations align with department sales and turn goals.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization regarding business trends in assigned category and contribute value-added insights to weekly Category performance review meetings.
  • Monitor seasonal inventory held in distribution centers to ensure timely release of inventory to stores.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university or associate’s degree with additional experience/training preferred.
  • Experience: One to three years of retail store experience and/or merchandise allocation experience desirable.
  • Job Related Skills: Ability to prioritize and organize workload, strong problem-solving skills, capability to meet stringent deadlines, and effective communication skills.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to develop, manipulate, format, and share spreadsheets for analysis purposes.

Qualifications

  • Office work environment, 40+ work hours per week.

Skills

  • JDA Arthur Allocations, MMS, and AS400 experience preferred.

Pay

$50,000 - $59,000 based on experience plus 10% bonus.

Schedule

Full-time position, 40+ hours per week.
