About the role

Join KGOU as the engaging afternoon host of All Things Considered in OKC. The ideal candidate will bring stories to life with a conversational voice, sharp news instincts, and strong reporting skills—covering breaking news, producing multimedia content, and connecting with the community on-air and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Bring stories to life with a conversational voice, sharp news instincts, and strong reporting skills—covering breaking news, producing multimedia content, and connecting with the community on-air and beyond.
• May be required to file national news spots and fill in on other host shifts, as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Journalism, or related field.
• 12 months experience as a reporter.
• Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 60 months related experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date.
• One year of experience in broadcasting, or some equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong writing skills and knowledge of AP style.
• Experience with web posting, broadcast and audio editing software and equipment.
• Time management and organization skills, including reliability and punctuality;
• Ability to work independently;
• Effective interpersonal communication skills.
