About the role
The Beverage Shift Supervisor is responsible for supporting the management of beverage operations and team members during assigned shifts. This role ensures high-quality guest service standards are consistently met through hands-on leadership, effective staff training, and operational oversight.
Responsibilities
- Practice, support, and maintain the Mission, Vision, and Values of WarHorse Gaming.
- Provide tools, training, communication, and resources necessary for beverage team members to deliver exceptional guest service.
- Assist in scheduling beverage staff to ensure appropriate coverage for all operating hours and special events.
- Maintain beverage inventory in alignment with business demand and operational needs.
- Participate in weekly inventory processes and assist with ordering for beverage operations.
- Ensure proper cash handling procedures, including balancing registers at the end of each shift and reporting discrepancies to Finance.
- Authorize comp transactions in accordance with company policy.
- Ensure prompt, efficient, and friendly service in all beverage operations.
- Ensure compliance with responsible beverage service training (S.M.A.R.T. or T.I.P.S. Alcohol Awareness).
- Participate in the development of drink specials and promotional offerings.
- Stay current on beverage trends and service innovations.
- Attend meetings and training sessions and ensure team compliance with required certifications and training.
- Enforce all company, departmental, internal control, and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Promote positive guest relations and strong employee teamwork.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of food and beverage management experience.
- At least one (1) year of supervisory experience in a high-volume beverage operation (casino, banquet, entertainment, or multi-venue environment).
- Strong knowledge of POS systems and operational functionality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Understanding of financial management, budgeting, and operational cost control.
- Knowledge of applicable health, hospitality, and food service regulations.
- Ability to secure and maintain a Nebraska Gaming License.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in casino beverage operations or multi-outlet hospitality environments.
Certification Requirements
- ServSafe Certification
- TIPS Alcohol Awareness Certification
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods throughout assigned shifts.
- Frequent walking between service areas, bars, and storage locations.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Exposure to loud environments, food and beverage equipment, and casino floor conditions.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
Schedule
Due to the nature of the hospitality and entertainment industry, team members must be available to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
