Alarm Service Technician I

This hands-on role plays an integral part in building and maintaining customer relationships through installing, servicing, and inspecting low-voltage electronic security equipment at customer sites.
This position offers a combination of base pay and performance-based incentives. This role is classified as non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay where applicable.
Pay
Base Pay Range: $22.00 – $27.00 per hour (or salary equivalent). Commission/Bonus: Eligible for additional earnings based on sales performance and upsell activity. Actual compensation will vary based on experience, geographic location, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Experience with alarm panels such as: 2GIG, Qolsys, Ademco, GE, DSC, DMP, and others.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and replace system components as assigned (panels, peripheral devices, audible/visual alarms, etc.).
- Drive to customer homes to perform service.
- Perform physical tasks including occasional lifting, carrying (up to 30 pounds), pushing and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stops, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
- Diagnose causes of problems or failures in systems to identify equipment and repair needs.
- Provide customer education and training, including system demonstrations.
- Conduct thorough walkthroughs/site evaluations with customers to ensure the system meets their needs and expectations.
- Install and test the operations of all equipment to ensure proper functionality and signal verification required to establish service.
- Identify opportunities to improve system use and functionality, and provide recommendations to customers.
- Maintain safety practices to prevent injury and damage to property.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace/job site, ensuring customer satisfaction after each interaction.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Good driving record and valid driver’s license.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of how an alarm system operates.
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights.
- Comfortable working in tight spaces such as crawlspaces, attics, and basements.
