Job Responsibilities
- Tests all equipment after installation or repairs made to ensure performance of system
- Uses company software to input testing results and read blueprints
- Analyzes and troubleshoots fire alarm systems including Ground-Faults, Shorts, Wire Integrity, Termination, Panel, Fuses, Battery Testing and much more
- Programs dialers for monitoring. Phone line traditional and cell phone monitoring skills needed
- Completes basic repairs and installations including moves, adds, relocates for all types of systems and devices
- Completes final reports, deficiency reports and possible bids via a computer
- Interacts with clients, field personnel and fire marshals
- Coordination with other disciplines, engineers, general contractors and end users
- Daily communications with Project Manager and/or Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of jobs
- Responsible for training apprentices on Company procedures, systems inspection and installation techniques
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of NFPA codes is required
- NICET I or II Certification a plus
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Fire Alarm Service Experience required
- Mechanics certifications are preferred but not required (EST, Gamewell, FCI, Notifier, Honeywell, Simplex, Siemens)
- Field installation experience is a plus
- Solid knowledge of NFPA 72, Factory Mutual and applicable codes is preferred
- Possess an understanding of expenses and scheduling
- OSHA 30 is a plus
- Ability to pass a post-offer drug test, background and reference check
