AIT Project Manager

About the role

The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered as promised products or services, on schedule and within budget. They investigate, analyze, design, develop, plan, and coordinate work teams to implement cost-effective solutions for technological needs. They provide technical support and application expertise to project team members and handle complex application features and technical designs.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in a related area is preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License required.
• Experience: Required: 3 to 6 years' experience in project management or a related field. Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and organizational skills. Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Project management methodologies and tools. Preferred: Project Management experience leading complex application implementations within a healthcare environment. Program management experience, and/or experience managing multiple application threads/projects at one time.

• Effectively applies AIT project methodology and enforces project standards.
• Safeguards project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Facilitates team and client meetings effectively.
• Keeps project team well-informed of requested project changes.
• Effectively communicates relevant project information to project sponsors.
• Maintains adherence to approved project budgets.
• Works directly with IT vendors to obtain estimates, quotes, project plans, and contracts for vendor-related software, hardware, services, and other system-related costs.
• Mentors and cross-trains staff to assist in their career development, improving job satisfaction, and increasing the collective expertise of the IT department.
• Assumes Project Leadership in the planning, analysis, design, development, and implementation of various information system projects.
• Captures and coordinates the selection and purchase of hardware/software and related equipment that meets business needs.
• Serves as the "customer advocate" for a specific customer or business unit as appropriate.
• Works with AIT technical and security team to ensure the proper integration of software/technology projects into AHS environment.
• Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members.
• Adheres to AtlantiCare and AIT Policies and Procedures.
