Essential Duties
- Ensures that airport operations, facilities and tenant activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including TSA, FAA, etc.
- Conducts inspections and audits of airport operations, facilities, terminals, and tenant activities to ensure compliance with 49CFR1540, 1542, and 1520, TSA security directives, etc.
- Investigates compliance violations, prepares reports, and recommends corrective actions
- Evaluates airport events affecting security; proactively recommend processes and procedures to enhance and improve the security and compliance programs
- Attends stakeholder meetings and provides regulatory briefings when necessary.
- Maintains oversight of the progress of all corrective actions taken to satisfy deficiencies noted in the TSA Annual Inspections for ORD, to ensure they are completed.
- Works with security representatives of various cargo facilities and fixed based operators at ORD and MDW, to ensure compliance with each Airport Security Program (ASP) and TSA regulations.
- Provides training and technical assistance to airport staff and tenants on regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Evaluates architectural drawings to ensure specific details conform to TSA security and safety regulations and requirements, and manages the construction projects impacting security posture and/or security measures

Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Aviation Management, Business or Public Administration, or a directly related field, PLUS five (5) years of work experience in airport operations, regulatory compliance, aviation security or a directly related field
- Should the above criteria not be fulfilled, the following options are acceptable:
- Nine (9) years of work experience in airport operations, regulatory compliance, aviation security or a directly related field
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s degree in Safety Management, Aviation Management, Business or Public Administration, or a directly related field, PLUS seven (7) years of work experience in airport operations, regulatory compliance, aviation security or a directly related field
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in Safety Management, Aviation Management, Public Administration, or a directly related field, PLUS four (4) years of work experience in airport operations, regulatory compliance, aviation security or a directly related field PLUS A valid State of Illinois Driver’s License is required
