Denver International Airport (DEN) is one of the busiest airports in the world and a major global aviation hub. Airport Operations plays a central role in keeping DEN safe, secure, compliant, prepared, and moving every day. The division supports regulatory compliance and passenger, aircraft, and product movement across the airport through Airside Operations, Terminal Operations, Airport Security, Emergency Management and Communications, Ramp Tower, Operations Administration, and close coordination with airport safety, maintenance, technical operations, airlines, federal partners, public safety agencies, contractors, and tenants. Responsibilities and duties

  • Conducts studies and/or research projects within the scope of the functional area, prepares comprehensive reports that reflect findings and conclusions, recommends feasible solutions in areas that require attention or change, and implements approved recommendations.
  • Implements procedures for evaluating effectiveness of the functional area, ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies, and assists in establishing processes and controls to ensure compliance.
  • Assists in the development and processing of contracts including participating in drafting RFP for contracts, evaluating proposals, and administering contracts for compliance and expenditures.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of the budget and approves expenditures.
  • Performs some or all the elements of supervision or lead work including work planning, instruction, and review, handling grievances and disciplinary actions, hiring and dismissing employees, and evaluating employee performance.
  • Serves as technical representative for the department.
  • Create, edit, and coordinate public presentations.
  • Internal and external event management planning and support.
  • Organize, manage, and book department travel.
  • Organize, manage, and schedule interviews for the department.
  • Manage and coordinate new employee onboarding.

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

  • Two or more years administratively supporting a manager or director.
  • Experience with process improvement, evaluation of effectiveness and implementation of policies or procedures.
  • Experience with budgeting principles and practices sufficient to be able to assume budgetary responsibilities as required.
  • Experience with various types of contracts, techniques for contracting or procurement, and contract negotiation and administration.
  • Experience with planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production.
  • Previous experience organizing and executing events for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating, booking, and reconciling travel for a manager or director.

Required minimum qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field based on a specific position(s).
  • Experience: Three (3) years’ experience performing full performance professional level duties within a specialized, functional area. (This does not include clerical experience.)
