About the Role

This position maintains the condition of City’s Airport facilities by providing maintenance and repairs to buildings, systems, and equipment; to provide a clean and safe environment for workers and the public.

Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the terminal and grounds using appropriate equipment and procedures.
Monitor the building automation system for any abnormalities, performing walk-throughs to verify proper temperatures and equipment operation for occupant comfort and safety.
Respond promptly to emergency situations involving malfunctioning systems or equipment, assess the situation, and take appropriate corrective action.
Notify the Supervisor when servicing by an external vendor is required.
Develop and maintain a schedule for asset and equipment replacement, adjusting as needed based on current conditions.
Maintain accurate records in the App 139 airport software, generating daily, monthly, and long-term reports for facilities management.
Perform light maintenance tasks, including moving furniture, repairing signs, painting, drywall repairs, light fixture maintenance, plumbing repairs, and flooring installation.
Inspect buildings to ensure the security of facilities and assets.
Clean, lubricate, and conduct preventive maintenance or repairs on equipment.
Follow all safety protocols, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and in compliance with safety regulations.
Report all accidents to the appropriate authority and comply with established reporting procedures.
Maintain accurate records of equipment repair history, work orders, daily job cards, and other related data.
Conduct snow and ice removal operations as needed.
Provide backup support to other department personnel as necessary.
Perform custodial duties when required.
Be available for after-hours support as assigned.
Conduct emergency repairs as needed to maintain operational integrity.
Perform all Part 139 compliance checks, including inspections of runways, taxiways, and aprons.
Inspect Runway Safety Areas (RSAs) for non-compliance and identify wildlife hazards.
Issue Field Condition Reports as necessary.
Issue Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of experience with building mechanicals, operations and repair.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree or Technical degree in facilities maintenance, mechanical operations, construction trades, or closely related field.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Must conduct onboarding and initial Part 139 training within 3 months of hire date.
  • Veteran's preference points are acknowledged in the City's hiring process.
