About the role
We are currently seeking a Lot Attendant to support the day-to-day operations of our parking facilities at MidAmerica Airport. This role ensures smooth parking operations while delivering excellent customer service, including greeting guests, issuing tickets, performing car counts, maintaining facility cleanliness, and providing on-site vehicle assistance such as jump-starts and minor troubleshooting in a fast-paced airport setting.
Responsibilities
- Greet arriving and departing guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Act as traffic controller to direct incoming guests to available parking spaces.
- Perform vehicle counts on location throughout shift to ensure garage does not exceed available spaces.
- Ensure vehicles are parked according to lot layout, spacing, and site instructions.
- Distribute parking validation instructions or signage information when applicable.
- Adjust cones, barriers, and directional signage as needed.
- Control traffic at entrances and exits as required.
- Monitor pedestrian crossings and ensure safe vehicle-pedestrian interaction.
- Provide assistance to guests who have forgotten where they parked.
- Drive a designated airport service vehicle throughout parking garages and surface lots.
- Respond promptly to service requests for vehicle jump-starts using jumper cables or portable battery packs.
- Assist customers with minor vehicle-related issues, such as locating their vehicle, lockouts (no tools), and basic troubleshooting (non-mechanical).
- Perform routine inspections of parking areas to identify safety hazards or maintenance issues.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, airport staff, and supervisors.
- Document assistance calls and services provided using required logs or mobile systems.
- Follow all airport safety, security, and driving regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the service vehicle and equipment.
- Provide general parking assistance and customer support as needed.
- Use respectful communication to assist guests with questions, problems, and concerns; relay information to Operations Manager or Shift Lead as necessary.
- Immediately report any accidents, incidents, or safety concerns to Operations Manager or Shift Lead.
- Follow established safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate professionally at all times with guests, clients, and teammates.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Must successfully pass a background check, in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to provide documentation verifying eligibility, as required by the Department of Homeland Security.
Skills
- Basic problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and report hazards.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to verbally communicate with guests.
- Previous customer service experience (preferred).
- Ability to safely drive and maneuver a service vehicle in tight parking areas.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle battery jump-start procedures (training provided).
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.
Physical Demands
- Constantly move around the property by walking for extended periods of time, sometimes for the entire duration of shift.
- Stand for extended periods of time, sometimes for the entire duration of shift.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed outdoors for extended periods of time, including up to the entire duration of shift.
- Subject to environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold weather. Protection from weather conditions may be provided, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
Pay
$15/hr
