Airport Customer Service Representative - Fixed Based Operator (FBO)

Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking qualified candidates for the Airport Customer Service Representative – Fixed Base Operator (FBO) position at the County's General Aviation airports: North Las Vegas Airport and/or Henderson Executive Airport. This role serves as the primary point of contact for General Aviation customers, delivering high-quality service in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, strong multitasking skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate telephones, two-way radios, air-to-ground radios, and various office equipment.
  • Process point-of-sale transactions and contact customers regarding unpaid aircraft service and parking fees.
  • Dispatch aircraft fueling and service requests using two-way radios.
  • Communicate with flight crews using air-to-ground radios.
  • Receive airport emergency calls, document information, and distribute it to support emergency response efforts.
  • Provide routine FBO hospitality services, including washing dishes, performing light laundry, and assisting with aircraft catering and cabin services.
  • Answer telephones, provide in-person information and services, and operate base radios to relay customer requests and service needs.
  • Prepare accurate fuel tickets, collect payments, and sell aviation-related merchandise.
  • Receive monthly payments from locally based aircraft and ensure daily accounting, balancing, and deposits of funds.
  • Assist customers with information on surface transportation, local services, and area attractions; arrange transportation and accommodations upon request.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily aircraft servicing, tie-downs, fuel sales, and services provided; manage financial records and generate reports.
  • Gather scheduled flight information and keep line service staff informed.
  • Maintain close communication with security personnel to facilitate emergency response; collaborate with agencies during lost aircraft search efforts.
  • Process paperwork and provide information on regulations, insurance, and procedures for based aircraft; maintain records of issued and returned keys.
  • Conduct general office support duties, such as filing, correspondence preparation, and managing office supplies and equipment repair.
  • Actively participate in work teams and provide suggestions to enhance unit efficiency and customer service.
  • Utilize standard office equipment, including computers, in daily tasks.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to graduation from high school and three (3) years of full-time experience working directly with the public, preferably in a cashiering or switchboard operation.
  • Professional-level experience and/or education that provides the necessary skills may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
  • Possess a valid Nevada Class "C" Driver’s License with appropriate endorsements at time of hire.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Ramp “R” Badge Access Seal within 6 months of start date.
  • Employment is contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug examination.
  • Permanent employees must maintain a principal place of residency within Clark County and comply with Nevada motor vehicle registration and driver’s license laws within 90 days of employment.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States (Clark County does not provide H1B visa sponsorships).
  • Employment is contingent upon completion of an education/experience background investigation, FBI fingerprint-based criminal history record check, and ability to obtain and maintain a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration.
  • Prospective hires must present two original government-issued IDs upon acceptance of job offer (e.g., Passport, Driver’s License, birth certificate, Social Security card).

Grooming Standards

  • No facial piercings or ear gauges; ear piercings should be minimal.
  • Facial hair must be no longer than 1 inch.
  • Hair must be neat and natural in color.
  • Visible tattoos must be concealed.

Schedule

  • General Aviation airport standard hours of operation are 5:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
  • Selected candidates should expect to work within these hours, including morning, mid, and swing shifts.
  • Possibility of working weekends and holidays.
  • Schedules are assigned based on seniority via an annual shift bid.
