About the role
This position is responsible for overseeing all custodial services, furniture, and equipment in airport buildings and structures at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The incumbent will also requisition cleaning materials and supplies, supervise a team of custodial employees, and make recommendations for new facilities or changes to existing facilities.
Responsibilities
- Investigates and addresses complaints regarding janitorial service
- Analyzes methods by which work is performed, with a view to improving custodial services and utilizing employee time
- Instructs supervisory personnel in changes in cleaning procedures and methods
- Develops safety and training programs
- Manages inspection programs for cleaning equipment to ensure safe operation
- Serves as Custodial Services' point of contact for necessary maintenance or preventative repairs
- Maintains records of cleaning projects, maintenance work, repairs, and service needs on all mechanized janitorial equipment
- Makes recommendations and requests for cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment
- Maintains furniture inventory and arranges for repair of damaged or missing furniture
- Maintains through subordinate employees all keys and key records for buildings and Airport Terminals
- Supervises collection of coins from nursery, dressing rooms, and pay toilets
- Makes recommendations and implements solutions regarding specifications for new facilities or changes to present facilities affecting Custodial operations and guest services
- Develops and implements sustainability initiatives and programs
- Collaborates with SFO management and other internal and external partners to coordinate appropriate responses for concurrent custodial issues with different priority levels
Requirements
- Completion of high school or equivalent (G.E.D. or High School Proficiency Examination)
- Four (4) years of verifiable experience supervising and directing a custodial workforce, including first-line custodial supervisors, engaged in cleaning operations and functions for multiple buildings and locations and/or for multiple concurrent cleaning projects and assignments covering an entire work shift
- Possession of a valid California driver's license
Qualifications
- Two (2) years of additional qualifying work experience may substitute for the education requirement
- Experience using Maximo to manage work orders
- Experience in Airport operations including the ability to forecast downstream impacts from custodial issues
- Experience working on multiple, complex, and concurrent initiatives
- Experience identifying operational impacts caused by disruptions and sharing findings with stakeholders
- Experience in strategic planning and problem-solving operational issues or problems within a unit/division
- Ability to network with key contacts outside own area of expertise
- Ability to communicate effectively across all communication platforms both orally and in writing, including developing and giving presentations
Benefits
The salary range for this position is $96,200 - $117,000.
