Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business or Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Engineering, or a related field.
- Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state.
Responsibilities
- Participate in monitoring airport operations for compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), state, and City regulations:
- Visually inspect physical condition and security of assigned airfield, airport, terminal facilities, and leased properties in accordance with defined guidelines.
- Observe activities for adherence to safety, environmental, or other operational requirements as per explicit instructions.
- Report deviations from acceptability standards, violations of code or contract provisions, and recommend corrective actions.
- Participate in coordination of airfield safety, airport security, and public safety during ordinary or emergency situations:
- Support day-to-day, drill, or actual emergency response and rescue operations.
- Direct supervisors and delegated phases of activities such as parking, ground transportation, communications, and maintenance.
- Resolve incidents including aircraft hijackings, hazardous material spills, or bomb threats.
- Recommend closure of aircraft movement areas as required.
- Evaluate results and recommend improvements in work organization and assignments.
- Prepare and present class instructions on related topics.
- Perform related duties:
- Execute duties of immediate supervisor or coworkers to ensure continuity of operations during absences.
- Maintain records and prepare reports.
- Respond to airport emergencies involving potential loss of human life or property.
- Resolve inquiries, problems, or complaints from airlines, passengers, or the media.
- Represent the City at meetings and conferences.
- Interact with officials, regulatory agencies, airport tenants, department directors, coworkers, media, and the public.
- Provide direction and oversee airport personnel after normal work hours.
- Enforce personnel rules, regulations, and work behavior standards firmly and impartially.
