Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Processing customers tickets, checking baggage, monitoring carry-on baggage for size and quantity, and assigning seats
- Providing information on arrival and departure times, boarding procedures, carry-on regulations, and seating arrangements
- Handling denied boarding situations, soliciting volunteers, accommodating customers and providing hotel, meal, and taxi vouchers when appropriate
- Ensuring FAA, airline, and airport regulations are followed
- Enforcing safety/security measures and protecting sensitive zones
- Aiding customers with special needs, such as those needing assistance in boarding
- Loading and uploading baggage on and off the aircraft
- Marauding in the planes and pushing back the aircraft
- Excelling in communication skills
- Being well-groomed and physically fit
- Working in extreme outdoor conditions
- Reading and writing English; bilingual skills a plus
- Working efficiently under time constraints
- Being available to work varied hours including swing and graveyard shifts plus weekends and holidays
- Completing other tasks as assigned by the Station Leader
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigration Act of 1986
- Must be able to carry 70 pound suitcases from the floor to 18 inches and carry 70 pound suitcases in front of you with both hands for a distance of up to 25 feet
- Must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time
- Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position
Qualifications
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Hours will vary based upon flight schedules
- Number of weekly hours may increase or decrease due to seasonal flight changes
- Starting wage $16.00 per hour
