Aircraft Worker (Fuels): Eglin AFB

About the Role

Aircraft Mechanics at this level repair, maintain, and inspect aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment under technical direction. Responsibilities include removing and installing aircraft components, conducting functional tests of repaired systems, and performing corrosion prevention and repair. Special certifications may be required, along with tasks such as adjusting, aligning, and rigging aircraft systems, as well as aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations. Crash recovery duties may also be assigned. Work center tasks directly support the functions of this classification.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain, and inspect aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment.
• Remove and install aircraft components.
• Conduct functional tests of repaired components and systems.
• Adjust, align, and rig aircraft systems as required.
• Perform aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations.
• Inspect and identify aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair.
• Perform crash recovery duties when necessary.
• Complete assigned tasks within the work center supporting job functions.
• Use technical data and maintenance directives for aircraft systems.
• Follow Air Force supply and deficiency reporting procedures, including handling hazardous waste and materials.
• Utilize MIS (CAMS/IMDS) and desktop computer operations for maintenance and reporting.
• Order, receive, and maintain parts and materials using Air Force supply procedures.

Requirements

• Qualification as an Aircraft Worker.
• Minimum of three years of experience performing functions such as installing, inspecting, repairing, or overhauling aircraft structures, systems, and components.
• Must have held a 2A6X4 (Fuels) Air Force Specialty Code or civilian/sister service equivalent.
• Minimum of four years of documented experience, preferably within the last ten years, on F-15s and/or F-16s.
• Ability to obtain and retain a flight line driver’s license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aircraft systems principles, maintenance directives, and technical data usage.
• Knowledge of Air Force supply procedures, deficiency reporting, and hazardous waste handling.
• Proficiency in MIS (CAMS/IMDS) and desktop computer operations.
• Completion of high school; courses in mathematics are desirable.
• Completion of a basic applicable aircraft maintenance course.

Pay

$38.10 per hour.
