About the Role

Repairs, maintains, and inspects aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment under the technical direction of an Aircraft Mechanic, Aircraft Mechanic (Senior), or Lead. Removes and installs aircraft components. Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems. May be required to adjust, align, and rig aircraft systems. Performs aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations. Inspects and identifies aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair. May perform crash recovery duties. Required to perform assigned tasks within your work center that directly support necessary functions of this job classification.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, repair, or overhaul aircraft structures, systems, and components.
• Conduct functional tests of repaired components and systems.
• Adjust, align, and rig aircraft systems as required.
• Perform aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations.
• Inspect and identify aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair.
• Perform crash recovery duties if required.
• Use technical data and maintenance directives for aircraft systems.
• Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials according to procedures.
• Utilize MIS (CAMS/IMDS) and desktop computer operations.
• Follow Air Force supply procedures to order, receive, and maintain parts and materials.
• Travel in performance of duties as required.

Requirements

• Qualification as an Aircraft Worker.
• Minimum of three years of experience performing functions such as installing, inspecting, repairing, or overhauling aircraft structures, systems, and components.
• Completion of a basic applicable aircraft maintenance course.
• Fully qualified AR technician with experience on F-15s, specifically in flight controls/canopy rigging.
• Crash recovery training or team chief training (highly desirable).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a flight line driver’s license.
• SECRET clearance required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aircraft systems principles, maintenance directives, and technical data usage.
• Knowledge of Air Force supply and deficiency reporting procedures.
• Working knowledge of MIS (CAMS/IMDS) and desktop computer operations.
• High school completion with courses in mathematics (desirable).

Pay

$38.10 per hour
