About the role

Repairs, maintains, and inspects aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment under the technical direction of an Aircraft Mechanic, Aircraft Mechanic (Senior) or Lead. Removes and installs aircraft components. Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems. May be required to adjust, align, and rig aircraft systems. May be required to perform aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations. Inspects and identifies aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair. May be required to perform crash recovery duties. Required to perform assigned tasks within your work center that directly supports necessary functions of this job classification.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, repair, or overhaul aircraft structures, systems, and components
  • Perform functional tests of repaired components and systems
  • Adjust, align, and rig aircraft systems
  • Perform aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations
  • Inspect and identify aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair
  • Perform crash recovery duties as required
  • Perform assigned tasks within your work center supporting job classification functions
  • Travel in performance of duties

Requirements

  • Qualification as Aircraft Worker
  • Minimum of three years of experience performing functions such as installing, inspecting, repairing, or overhauling aircraft structures, systems, and components
  • Completion of a basic applicable aircraft maintenance course
  • Fully qualified AR technician
  • Held an Air Force F-15 Crew Chief AFSC with qualifications in flight controls/canopy rigging
  • SECRET clearance required

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Principles applying to aircraft systems
  • Concepts and applications of maintenance directives and data reporting
  • Use of technical data
  • Air Force supply and deficiency reporting procedures
  • Proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials
  • MIS (CAMS/IMDS) and desktop computer operations
  • Air Force supply procedures to look up, place orders, receive, and maintain parts and materials

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (courses in mathematics desirable)

Pay

$38.10 per hour
