About the role
The Aircraft Worker makes repairs to aircraft following orders of higher grade workers, assists in troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft systems, performs maintenance inspections, and services engines and aircraft components.
Responsibilities
- Removes, cleans, reinstalls, or replaces defective parts, accessories, and components such as worn gaskets, couplings, and fittings.
- Adjusts and sets cable tension and seat movement settings and adjustments.
- Obtains standard parts such as fuel and oil line connections and fittings, cable linkage, and spark plug cables and harnesses by referring to parts manuals and comparing with samples.
- Makes pre-flight, through-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
- Enters descriptions of work performed in maintenance records.
- Performs engine and component repairs at line stations to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Three (3) years’ actual and recent related experience in the field, or an A&P license considered equivalent to three (3) years’ experience.
- Ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
- May require travel.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
Skills
- Knowledge of aircraft systems and components.
- Ability to read and interpret parts manuals.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment.
