Job Summary
The Aircraft Teardown Technician will perform aircraft disassembly which includes the proper and safe removal of aircraft parts, components, subcomponents, including but not limited to panels, electrical wires, valves, actuators, accumulators, fire bottles, pneumatic ducts, hydraulic lines, control cables, flight control surfaces, seats, galleys, and lavatories. This is all done following AFRA Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association guidelines and manufactures manuals, as necessary.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Remove aircraft parts, components, subcomponents, including but not limited to panels, electrical wires, valves, actuators, accumulators, fire bottles, pneumatic ducts, hydraulic lines, control cables, flight control surfaces, seats, galleys, and lavatories.
- Complete all tasks to the quality standards of AerSale AFRA and our customers’ requirements.
- Perform disassembly work within estimated or budgeted hours.
- Read and use manuals as required and directed to ensure safe and proper removal according to AFRA best practices as applicable.
- Ensure that AerSale, Inc. and customer aircraft maintenance documents are accurate and properly annotated.
- Ensure that all parts are kept secure within the confines of AerSale property as it is against federal law to allow any part not serviceable to be re-introduced into the supply chain without proper certification.
- Able to work any or all shifts.
Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Mechanical background preferred
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check, verification of credentials, and a urinary preemployment test for drugs as per DOT regulations.
- Depending on location, you may be required to pass the required background checks for TSA FBI etc. to obtain an airport issued badge such as SIDA, AOA, or any other badge required by the airport authority. If required by the location, passing this and obtaining the badge is a condition of employment since the badge allows you access into the worksite.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces or elevated areas.
- Commitment to continuous learning (keeping up with new technologies & regulations).
- Must have strong verbal communication skills.
- Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality with work products.
- Must be flexible to work any shift.
- Able to work any or all shifts.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift fifty (50) lbs.
- Subject to continual loud noises.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for prolonged periods of time, climb steps, ladders and/or service stands.
- Normal or corrected vision and hearing is required.
Work Environment
Hangar and ramp atmosphere. Must be able to work in uncontrolled climate conditions.
