About the role

The Aircraft Structural Assembler performs the assembly, fitting, finishing, and bonding of aircraft structural components and subassemblies to precise aerospace specifications. This role uses technical drawings, work orders, and specialized tools to complete final assembly work while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and fit aircraft structural parts and subassemblies
  • Perform test fit and gap checks with high tolerances
  • Perform structural adhesive bonding preparation per product specifications and compliance programs
  • Align, fit, assemble, connect, or install system components, using jigs, fixtures, measuring instruments, hand tools, or power tools
  • Adjust, repair, rework, or replace parts and assemblies
  • Layout and mark reference points
  • Read and understand blueprints, isometric drawings and work orders
  • Receive and carry out directions from designated supervisors, production leads, and cell managers
  • Understand and comply with safety and 5S practices
  • Understand and comply with AS9100 and Nadcap Practices and Procedures as applicable
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition
  • Perform on the job training for project certifications, AS9100, Nadcap training and other training as required
  • Work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
  • Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
  • Work on time and maintain good attendance
  • Translate military aviation structural and maintenance experience into the civilian aerospace industry
  • Gain exposure to advanced composite aircraft manufacturing and assembly operations
  • Work on high-visibility aerospace and defense programs
  • Build experience supporting FAA- and AS9100-regulated environments
  • Develop civilian-recognized technical and quality skills

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in aircraft assembly, structural maintenance, fabrication, or related fields preferred
  • Ability to read and follow technical documentation and engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, safety, and quality standards
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
