Job Summary
The Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician position at GMRE is day shift and may be eligible for per-diem based on GSA.gov standards. The position is contingent upon contract award.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Repair, fabricate, modify, reshape, and install aircraft sheet metal parts, items, and assemblies.
- Must have the ability to follow blueprints, measure for correct alignment, cut sheet metal to size, drill holes, fasten members together by bolting, riveting, glue etc.
- This work requires knowledge of sheet metal principles involved in aircraft and related equipment.
- Recommends methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance.
- Knowledge is mandatory of sheet metal fabrication and repair, concepts and application of maintenance directives.
- Possess the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts IAW established Technical Data Specifications.
- Able to interpret the meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Must have the ability to properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials.

Education and Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years sheet metal and structures experience in Fighter/Attack/Bomber/Transport (preferably F-16) maintenance as a sheet metal technician. Must possess the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts IAW established Technical Data Specifications.
Security Clearance Requirements
Must have ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation.
Physical Requirements
- Normal color vision as defined by GMRE, with a passing score of 75% or greater.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Travel Required
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position for meetings, trainings, and/or site visits.
