Aircraft Refueler Technician - 1484

About the role

This position is responsible for fueling, ground support, and aircraft movement of all types of airplanes that land at the airport. That can be everything from commercial airlines to military and business aircraft. You may also be required to assist with vehicle and facility maintenance and upkeep of the fuel trucks and ground support equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform aircraft fueling per West Star procedures, following all safety guidelines.
• Towing and ground handling of aircraft using approved aircraft guidelines.
• Parking aircraft and providing customer support for passengers and crew.
• Provide background support such as vehicle maintenance, taking fuel loads from suppliers, and daily upkeep of the facility.
• Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Requirements

• A High school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license (with no major violations) approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
• Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.
• Reliable transportation to get to work each and every day.

• Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
• Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
• Maintain customer-oriented work habits.

Qualifications

• Lifts 50 lbs., including fuel hoses.
• Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.
• Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
• Climb ladders and stairs.
• Standing for long periods of time.

Skills

• Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
• Must be alert and aware of surroundings.
• Work with others in a professional manner.
• Very good customer skills.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $18.00 - $22.00. Actual hourly rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance.

Schedule

Work shift is Saturday—Tuesday 4:30am—2:30pm
