Job Summary
The Aircraft Painter, Paint Technician Level 2 at Lockheed Martin Greenville Paint Operations Team is responsible for producing and sustaining paint/coating operations on C-130 and other military aircraft before delivery to customers. Essential job functions include interpreting marking drawings, preparing aircraft surfaces, applying paint, maintaining painting equipment, and ensuring a safe, FOD-free work environment.
Responsibilities
- Interpret marking drawings to accurately apply both major and minor interior/exterior aircraft markings and decals.
- Prepare aircraft surfaces by washing, cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure they are free from contaminants and ready for high-quality painting.
- Utilize various tools such as grinders, sanders, paint guns, and measuring devices to prepare and paint aircraft surfaces, parts, and components.
- Maintain and troubleshoot painting equipment to ensure its operational effectiveness and longevity within the aerospace industry.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of Aircraft specific paint experience.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Physical requirements: frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, twisting, working on or in the aircraft, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive movements and work overhead.
- Equipment (PPE) as needed to perform job tasks.
Qualifications
- Must complete a post-offer medical exam.
- Must have respirator certification.
- Must work 1st shift: 5:30am-4:00PM, 4x10A.
