About the role

Team Yulista is seeking skilled Aircraft Mechanics I, II, & III (Sheet Metal) to join our team. These roles involve assessing aircraft damage, drafting repair procedures, and performing advanced metalworking tasks to keep aircraft mission-ready.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and assess damage to aircraft structural components and formulate proper repair/replacement procedures utilizing applicable technical data.
  • Remove and install close tolerance, high-strength fasteners in major aircraft structural components.
  • Advise on structural repair, modification, and corrosion protection treatment with respect to original strength, weight, and contour to maintain structural integrity.
  • Perform post repair flight control weight and balance functions as well as control surface rigging per designated technical orders.
  • Inspect components/repairs for structural serviceability according to specifications and technical publications.
  • Manufacture and use jigs, fixtures, forms, and molds to fabricate repair or replacement parts.
  • Utilize advanced metalworking practices, equipment, and tools to form, cut, bend, and fasten replacement or repair parts to damaged structures and components.
  • Use shop drawing and metal layout techniques; shop mathematics; corrosion identification, removal, repair, and prevention; cleaning of metals; application of protective coatings, and markings.
  • Document maintenance as per Quality Assurance (QA) and established regulatory requirements.
  • Store, handle, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials according to environmental standards and company processes.
  • Operate and maintain related aircraft Support Equipment (SE).
  • Use automated maintenance systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, document maintenance actions, and time change database.
  • Perform regular Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walks.
  • Maintain strict tool control procedures. Report missing, lost, found, or unattended tools to the supervisor. Inventory and inspect tools on a regular basis and replace worn or broken tools.
  • Comply with safety rules and regulations while performing day-to-day maintenance. Promptly report all accidents, injuries, safety violations, and/or unsafe practices or procedures to supervisor.
  • Maintain equipment records. Enter in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verify the work was performed satisfactorily.
  • The Aircraft Structural Mechanic will be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of relevant aircraft structural maintenance experience with fixed / rotary wing commercial, Government or DOD aircraft or equivalent for Mechanic I.
  • 5+ years of relevant aircraft depot level structural maintenance experience with fixed / rotary wing commercial, Government or DOD aircraft for Mechanic II.
  • 12+ years of relevant aircraft structural maintenance experience with fixed / rotary wing commercial, Government or DOD aircraft and 5+ years of depot level structural maintenance experience for Mechanic III.
  • Previous Air Force Specialty Code 2A753 / 2A773 highly desirable for Mechanic II and Mechanic III.
  • Multi aspect aviation qualifications / certifications / disciplines and ability to train these skills a must for Mechanic III.
  • Experience supporting DoD contracts for all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within depot level maintenance required for all levels.
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airplane and/or Powerplant certification a plus for Mechanic II and Mechanic III.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance for all levels.

Skills

  • Knowledgeable in depot level processes and procedures for replacement of major structural components.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, technical documentation, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Good decision analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to communicate issues to management.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of fixed wing aircraft construction features, identification and characteristics of aerospace materials to include proper use, mixing, and storage of acids, solvents, alcohol, caustics, primers, and paints; and proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures of depot fabrication / repair / replacement of metal components, tubing, cable, plastic, fiberglass, bonded honeycomb, and composite structural components.
  • Ability to utilize respirator, forced air, or other breathing equipment during the performance of assigned duties.
  • Able to enter data accurately into databases.
  • Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Able to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Yulista goals.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • High degree of self-motivation.
  • Ability to multi-task.
