About the role

The Aircraft Mechanic III/Flight Engineer supports flight operations and maintenance on P3 Aircraft. Key responsibilities include maintaining and repairing various systems, troubleshooting, documenting work, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on aircraft, including avionics, mechanical systems, and ground support equipment.
  • Repair, inspect, and maintain structural, mechanical, and electrical elements of the aircraft.
  • Use and train others on the use of diagnostic devices, computers, and hand/mechanical tools.
  • Oversee and direct others in completing maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot systems as needed to meet customer needs.
  • Document maintenance activities according to QA and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct FOD walks and maintain control tools.
  • Inventory and inspect tools regularly, replacing worn or broken tools.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and safety issues promptly.
  • Enter maintenance records and ensure satisfactory completion of work.
  • May perform other related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting a NASA/DoD contract.
  • Knowledge of common concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
  • Required to have FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification with Flight Engineer certification in turbo propeller powered aircraft, or FAA A&P certification with four years of active-duty military experience as a mechanic on a P-3 Orion aircraft.

Qualifications

  • Must have your own required tools.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.

  • Beginner to intermediate computer skills, specifically using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.
  • Working knowledge of advanced software applications.
  • Able to enter data accurately into databases.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with all levels of management and staff.
  • Effective oral and technical written communication skills.
  • Able to use general office equipment.
  • Able to follow a process.
  • Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service, and follow-up.
  • Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to draw conclusions and justify decisions.
  • Able to communicate issues to management.
  • Able to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures.
  • Able to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
