Aircraft Mechanic II - PHF (ATAC)
About the role
The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for maintenance actions on Airborne Tactical Advantage Company’s aircraft as well as safe and expeditious launch and recovery flight line operations at permanent and detachment sites. The Aircraft Mechanic will also participate in inert ordnance loading, arming and downloading on ATAC’s aircraft.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain efforts in support of company commitments
- Proficient in one type/model aircraft and helper on additional type/model aircraft
- Utilize AMS program
- Train maintenance personnel
- Manage assigned maintenance programs
- Assist with coordination of detachment requirements with Crew Chiefs (as necessary)
- Obtain and maintain Detachment Lead qualification
- Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls
- Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls
- Perform 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections
- Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections
- Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints or manufactures’ manuals
- Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects
- Manage programs as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum requirements of this position include, but are not limited to, an A&P certification and/or at least 8 years military equivalency experience and capable of performing in a supervisory, detachment lead and/or team lead role
- Must be experienced and competent in the supervision and inspection of complex maintenance actions
- Must have proven effective leadership experience and adept at enforcing GOP’s and safety practices
- Must be able to pass a medical examination to handle ammunition and explosives
