Aircraft Mechanic I – AFW (ATAC)

This role is within Textron System’s Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC) business area, which provides tactical flight training and Adversary, Red Air, and Aggressor services to the U.S. Navy, Marines, and U.S. Air Force. ATAC operates across eight permanent sites spanning the CONUS, Hawaii, and the Pacific, delivering high-quality live training to 4th and 5th Generation aircrew.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance efforts in support of company commitments.
• Proficient in one type/model aircraft and helper on additional type/model aircraft.
• Utilize AMS program.
• Train maintenance personnel.
• Manage assigned maintenance programs.
• Assist with coordination of detachment requirements with Crew Chiefs (as necessary).
• Obtain and maintain Detachment Lead qualification.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces, and controls.
• Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures (e.g., wings, fuselage) and functional components, including rigging and surface controls.
• Perform 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections.
• Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring systems and aircraft accessories.
• Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
• Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturers’ manuals.
• Prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
• Additional responsibilities as delineated by Production Supervisor and Crew Chiefs.
• Manage programs as assigned.

Requirements

• A&P certification or at least 5 years of military aircraft maintenance equivalency.
• Capable of performing unsupervised complex maintenance actions and holds or has held a QAR qualification, engine turn qualification, or advanced troubleshooting experience.
• Capable of managing assigned collateral programs, training junior mechanics on aircraft systems/GOP’s/safety practices, and competent in the use of specialized tooling and/or test equipment.
• Supervises aircraft servicing.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to climb in and out of the aircraft.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Performance will be continuously monitored by supervision and reviewed annually with the employee. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, for access to classified information.

Primary location: Fort Worth, Texas. Full-time, onsite role with up to 25% travel.
