Aircraft Mechanic I (W&T)

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide off-equipment maintenance for wheels, tires and associated equipment used on assigned aircraft.
• Manage, forecast and coordinate overhaul maintenance for over 50 wheel & tire assemblies spanning 4 different aircraft MDS's.
• Operate all associated ground support equipment and use hand tools, special tools, fixtures and adhesives applicable to maintenance and repair.
• Research technical data, maintenance drawings and blueprints for inspection, maintenance, and repair of assigned equipment.
• Disassemble / Reassemble, inspect, repair and repack Boeing and Gulf Stream wheel & tire assemblies.
• Maintain bench and shop stocks and order material and supplies as required.
• Coincide maintenance efforts with the NDI Shop, Sheetmetal Shop, Production Supervisors and Maintenance Operation Coordination Center.
• Document applicable forms and input data in Maintenance Information System.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, housekeeping, tool control, and FOO prevention programs.

Minimum Requirements

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
• Must have a working knowledge of applicable technical publications and repair procedures for wheel & tire assemblies.
• The ability to read, write, speak and understand English is required.
• An FAA Airframe License is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
• US Citizenship is required to obtain clearance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a flight line driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• A working knowledge of corrosion control techniques and base, federal and Company procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials is preferred.

Compensation Details

Hiring hourly range: $48.85
