About the role

F-35 Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor assigned to NAS Patuxent River’s F-35 Integrated Test Force (ITF). Provides full-spectrum leadership to the ITF’s Flight Test Maintenance department, including personnel deployed to NAS Patuxent River. Coordinates directly with the ITF’s Maintenance Managers for all maintenance activities related to leadership and management of personnel and resources.

Selected candidate will be integral to test planning and coordination with Test Operations, Flight Operations, Air Vehicle Engineering, Logistics, Safety, Quality & Mission Success, GFR/Aviation Performance Team, and NAS Patuxent River base agencies.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and may require deployment to US Naval vessels and throughout the continental US. Must be flexible to support 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts and weekend duty.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction, personnel actions (performance recognition, recruitment, staffing, and disciplinary actions) for hourly personnel.
• Deliver detailed aircraft maintenance planning for F-35 aircraft and support equipment.
• Manage general services, repairs, and overhauls of F-35 aircraft and aircraft engines to ensure aircraft are in good mechanical condition and safe for flight.
• Enforce good housekeeping and safety practices for the Development Foundation Contract (DFC).
• Direct periodic inspections and general repairs or modifications requiring replacement and assembly of parts.
• Provide technical assistance as required.
• Create and assign work-orders in the Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS).
• Assist in signing the aircraft exceptional release off and verifying aircraft are safe for flight.
• Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices.
• May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
• Perform other duties as assigned and/or required by the needs of the customer/program.

Requirements

• Fighter Aircraft Maintenance experience (F-35, F-22, F-15, F-16, F-18, etc.).
• Aviation Leadership experience.
• Experience in modification and/or test of aircraft and associated systems.
• Experience with Aircraft Ground Operations Procedures and Aviation Safety.
• Must be a US Citizen with eligibility for access to classified information.
• Generally has 3+ years of professional experience.

Desired Skills

• F-35 aircraft maintenance experience (preferred).
• Quality Assurance experience.
• Flight Test experience.
• Experience managing in a Union environment.
• Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) experience.
• Flight line and intermediate aircraft maintenance experience.

For Washington state applicants only: Non-represented full-time employees accrue at least 10 hours per month of PTO and receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month, up to 52 hours of sick leave annually, and receive at least 96 hours for holidays.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $81,500.00 - $151,300.00. The salary offered considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market/location considerations.
