Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor- NAWDC GT

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager, or Site Manager and is responsible for supervising organizational-level maintenance on assigned aircraft under contract to Amentum at NAS Fallon, NV. This role involves directing, coordinating, and monitoring all maintenance and material actions to retain or restore aircraft, equipment, or components to a serviceable condition efficiently and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities

• Apply in-depth knowledge of CNAFINST 4790.2 Series and applicable T/M/S technical publications, including Special Inspections, Technical Directives, and Aircraft Configuration requirements for flight operations.
• Ensure compliance with requirements to Release Aircraft Safe for Flight.
• Monitor maintenance SCIR documentation via the NALCOMIS/OOMA system and review Aircraft Weight and Balance forms for accuracy.
• Direct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions to meet operational tasking identified by government/flight schedules.
• Brief aircrew prior to Functional Check Flights (FCF) and review aircrew documentation of aircraft FCF performance.
• Authorize cannibalization and coordinate Depot Level Inspection/Repair actions.
• Assign workload priorities, manage awaiting maintenance and material status, and oversee T/M/S Aircraft configuration.
• Screen and liaise with Quality Assurance, notifying Government Oversight QARs of all Flight Critical, Safety of Flight, and mandatory QA inspections.
• Monitor high-time components, establish supply priorities, and coordinate work center maintenance tasking to meet daily Flight Schedule and Ground Test Requirements.
• Ensure maintenance conforms to requirements, manufacturers' specifications, company policy, or Navy-recognized standards.
• Maintain neat and orderly work areas and enforce all safety rules and regulations.
• Provide direct supervision, leadership, and management of day-to-day operations for assigned work groups.
• Schedule personnel efficiently to meet work requirements and prevent costly duplication of labor.
• Ensure employees use proper procedures, methods, and practices in their duties.
• Work in outside weather conditions on the aircraft flight line/ramp.
• Collaborate with other groups or personnel to resolve problems.
• Instruct and assist in training lower-level employees in proper work methods and job duties.
• Perform additional maintenance duties or supervisory functions as assigned by senior management.

This position regularly requires standing, walking, use of hands and fingers to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years as a Naval Maintenance Control Chief/Leading Petty Officer billet with supporting USN/USMC/USCG documentation.
• Extensive background in aircraft maintenance and material support with at least 15 years of experience, including 10 years in direct aircraft maintenance repair, inspection, and modification.
• Of the 10 years in direct aircraft maintenance, 6 years must be in a supervisory position responsible for assigning program workloads and duties for entire shifts.
• Experience supervising daily flight operations personnel supporting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Knowledgeable of technical directives and CNAFINST 4790.2 Series, basic supply procedures, and applicable aircraft systems.
• Minimum of one year in a maintenance/production control position.
• Ability to write with clarity and technical accuracy.
• Must be able to work all assigned shifts and schedules.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required).
• Previous military personnel must provide DD214 with Honorable Discharge.

Pay

Hiring salary range: $99,230.00 – $107,348.00. Compensation is determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, and market alignment. The estimated compensation for this role is $107,000.
